To keep it simple, I love what I do.

Design has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I'd even tell you that the beginning of my business dates back to an orange door knob I selected in a Lowe's isle with my dad back in the 90's for my cardboard house that I was customizing at the time. If you look closely, you'll find that knob incorporated into my brand photos and logo.

When I'm not designing, you can find me spending time with my family & friends, eating good food, and traveling. My husband and I also enjoy live music, dancing, and making fun memories with our toddler.

It's an honor to be living in my hometown serving the Victoria community & its surrounding areas through plan design and I'm thankful for all the support I've received over the years already.

"Why Grey Feather?" is a common question that we're asked.

to us represents going beyond the technical black & white floor plan by providing our clients with accompanying 3D views of their plan design that allows for visualization of a space long before construction begins.

have remained a recurring theme and form of validation & guidance leading up to and throughout my entrepreneurial journey. Two key moments stand out the most. First was a feather tucked into a parting gift notebook on the last day of my first internship -- I had just made some big decisions regarding my college major and this gift provided peace after months of continuous thought.

Second, a couple years later I was contemplating some big life decisions again & considering starting my own business. I found a small grey feather on the sidewalk outside of my workplace at the time while walking to my car.

Validation 2:
Check.

MY STORY

Feathers are often viewed as symbols of guidance & intuition, so both of these instances really stuck with me and were the signs that I needed telling me that I was on the right path moving in the right direction.

That small feather sits framed on my desk serving as a constant reminder of guidance, trust, and how far I've come since taking that first step towards starting this business.

TESTIMONIALS

-John Handley

Remodel Design Client
Coastline Advisory Group in Victoria, TX

Grey Feather Design Studio is a process and a relationship, not a set of designs or plans. I was amazed at the attention to detail Shelby brings to her work and the results are equally as remarkable. Outstanding work! I'm always so impressed to see work ethic combined with talent - Shelby brings the full package to bear in her work. If I have future work to be done there's no doubt Grey Feather Design Studio will get the call.

Shelby did a great job and showed me things that I never would have thought of. Especially where I needed it most in the kitchen. She was also very good about giving me ideas for my project that I would have never considered, but will have a great impact. The 3D really helped allow me to see the possibilities of different ideas and how they would impact the project. So happy I made the call!

I would hire Shelby again in a heart beat! She was very easy to work with and was open to all the changes I asked for even if I changed my mind. She worked quickly and returned my emails/calls in a timely manner. I have built several commercial and my home and used other designers. She was the best! I have gone back to Shelby a few times to make changes to our plans and each time she was open and receptive to the changes. Offering ideas, when I had none. Overall, it was a good experience, and I can't wait to see the finished product!

We had a fantastic experience with Shelby! Her creativity brought new and innovative ideas to our project. She has a clear timeline, upfront pricing, and great vision. She responds quickly to all communication and was prompt with revisions. She helped us envision exactly what we wanted in our remodel. Our contractor was impressed with the details Shelby provided in her drawings and renderings to help him get started on our project. Her renderings were key in helping our cabinet maker understand exactly what we wanted. I'd recommend Shelby to anyone needing help bringing ideas to life!

OUTSTANDING JOB

-Tammy Murphy

Remodel Design Client

Chick-fil-A Victoria, Texas

Shelby was great to work with from start to finish. She carefully considered every single idea and suggestion we had. She was always happy to answer design questions along the way and share her opinion on colors and finishes. We loved her and admired her talents so much, we had her design an addition for our bay home. It, like the office, was far better than we could have imagined and we can’t wait to begin that project!

We were referred to Shelby Stange and Grey Feather Design Studio to advise us on designing an office building renovation. When we mentioned modern industrial design, she said that was one of her favorites! My wife and I, being somewhat creative and holding strong opinions, pretty much told Shelby what we wanted it to look like. When we met with her a couple of weeks later, she showed us two designs that were both exactly what we thought we wanted. However, she reluctantly unveiled a third plan. She had taken many liberties with the design and added her unique vision for the project... and we are SO grateful she did! The design was incredible! We are almost done with the remodel and renovation as I write this, but enough has been done to showcase how amazing it is! We can’t wait for the finished product.

SHE ADDED HER UNIQUE VISION FOR THE PROJECT...AND WE ARE SO GRATEFUL SHE DID!

Shelby at Grey Feather Design Studio offered her expertise in design to help bring to life our vision. She went above and beyond to make every room as I had pictured. She worked tirelessly to answer any of my questions or concerns. She designed everything we wanted down to the smallest detail. We were very impressed with the level of professionalism she provided along with the personal touch of her added creativity. We would highly recommend her for any design project you may need and we will use her again in the future.
